Transformation

We have spent hours clearing out behind the creek for two reasons. ONE, we felt it would be safer for the children having the creek easily seen so when they are playing and such it's just a look out the window to see if everyone is alright. We used to have to run along the creek (when a child was 'missing') and hope that they were wearing bright enough colors that we could see them if they had fallen in the water and were drowning. TWO, we felt we needed more grass to mow. No actually it makes a nice oasis for having people over and makes it nice an open around the back of the house. It's also just fun to improve things no matter where we are living.

Here are also a few cute pictures of our little Andi Kristyne. She had gotten these boots from a friend and wouldn't take them off, but couldn't play on the playground with the other kids because they were slippery, so she gave up trying and sat on the logs to watch the other kids play. I took the opportunity to take a few pictures, grabbed a hat on my way out and this is what we got.

First Post

What have we been up too these past few weeks? SPRING CLEANING!! The weather has been wonderful and we have needed (like everyone else) to get the weeds pulled, grass fertilized, windows washed (or should I say scrubbed), summer clothes brought in and winter stuff put away for a while, plants dusted thoroughly... and the most fun of all, we have enjoyed playing outside together while soaking up the sun...

The kids have mastered their bikes and now have jumps and different obsticles to make things more interesting. Nate and Halley ran in their first race and still run up the road a couple of times a week to stay in shape for the next race (not sure when that will be).

Todd turned THREE and Uncle Titus came over to have cookies and milk with us. Uncle Titus and Todd have the same birthday (only 14 years difference) All Todd wanted was LOTS of boys over to the house and to eat cookies with milk. They also road motorcycles for a while and jumped on the trampoline.

Nate with 'little' help from the rest of us cleared all the brush out behind the creek and planted some more grass. We plan to put a bridge across the creek to make a sort-of 'haven' back their for gatherings and such. It looks nice I think so.

We had our 6th wedding anniversary this past May and spent the time together (with Darbi) here at home, did some planning, talking, shopping, and reading. I couldn't have asked for a more enjoyable time with the man of my dreams.

Looking ahead we have a family reunion for my mom's side of the family here at our place (thus the working hard to get things looking nice). David and Kristi and their kids will make it out for that and some more visiting I'm sure. We are all looking foreword to seeing lots of family and friends and having bar-b-que's here at the house.

There is also a marriage conference that Nate and I are helping out with in September. Mr. and Mrs. Hogan (spelling I'm not sure of) will be the speakers and it will take place here in Portland.

So, that is just a brief sketch of our lives for the spring and summer.
